The production of visual electronic media (TV, video, DVD) has changed radically over recent years to make the medium more accessible and cost-effective than in the past. It is now a totally digital medium which provides outstanding flexibility for the producer and the client. ACQUISITION That's the fancy word for shooting your program and getting other media and files into our comuter for digital editing. We shoot all original material on the new Panasonic P2 series HD video camera. This is a remarkable breakthough in digital acquisition and shoots ALL video formats from Mini DV through to uncompressed high definition TV. It can shoot on tape or onto high volume flash media which means there are no moving parts and excellent battery life. EDITING At Longitude MultiMedia we are Apple snobs and have been using these magic computers since 1991. Our first hard drive was 4 Gb, about the size of a motorbike engine and sounded like a Boeing 747 when you started it up! Now the computers are about 25 times faster and our hard drive is 2 terrabytes (2000 Gb) , easily transportable, fits easily inside our new generation Apple and is virtually silent. We use Final Cut Pro, the industry standard and Apple's proprietary multimedia editing solution. DISPLAY It's all very well going to the trouble of collecting amazing images of your business or event. But how are your clients going to see them? A crappy TV, cheap video projector or old computer?
